Plough at Shiplake

A Little Local Gem Worth Discovering 

A quick recommendation for anyone who hasn’t yet discovered The Plough at Shiplake — we’re so lucky to have great places to eat and drink nearby.

We’re fortunate to have our own village pub within walking distance, perfect for a drink and village atmosphere.

But it’s also lovely to venture a little further, and The Plough is well worth the short trip.

It feels like more than dinner — it’s a real experience and destination.

The garden is beautiful, full of planting and a relaxed, almost holiday feel.

The food is exceptional — their Fish & Chips are possibly the best I’ve had locally (even compared to Cornwall!) and the homemade focaccia was outstanding.

Service is warm, friendly and attentive, with a relaxed but special feel.

While some may think it’s expensive, I find it very good value given the quality, setting and experience.

We’re lucky to have both a great local pub and places like The Plough nearby — it’s nice to have choice!

Definitely worth a visit, especially on a summer evening in the garden.
