Blunt garden shears

Does anyone know where I can get my garden shears sharpened. It seems such a shame to bin them and have buy a new pair.

Unlike knives they are very easy to sharpen. I have always done my own and it takes just a few minutes. Put the shears with the blades fully open in a vice and with a fine sharp file follow the same angle that the blades have already been set at. Only file one way towards the cutting edge. Do both blades. If you have a diamond file you can finish off with that to give a superior edge. You may also need to tighten the bolt that connects the blades.Spray with WD40 and test cut on piece of paper.

You can get your garden shears sharpened in the garden machinery section of Toad Hall.
